Colour shapers Warhols Wife: are revolutionary art tools of the modern world, invented by artists for artists, for blending, drawing, lifting, painting, drawing, lifting and sculpting.

Five Different Head Shapes

The extremely durable and versatile five-piece Warhol’s Wife silicone colour shapers have five different head shapes: a sharp point, cup chisel, cup round, slanted point, and flat.

The Details

Each handle is lacquered and designed to fit snuggly in your hand while you create. The Warhol’s Wife colour shapers feature short handles that make them easy to control, and the 16.5cm, 165mm length makes them easy to pack away and store.

The five-piece set features firm but flexible black tips. The tips of the colour shapers are designed to be flexible and not break, even when repeatedly bent, giving you a combination of control and precision not found with traditional brushes and painting knives.

Mediums to use with your Detailed Colour Shapers

They are multipurpose and can manipulate various mediums such as paint, pastels, ink, and clay. Use them to push and pull oil paint, heavy-bodied acrylics, and acrylic mediums like moulding paste, fibre paste, or thick gels.

Colour shapers can create a variety of textures and surface effects in wet paint or gesso or strategically remove paint from your surface. Apply glue to paper surfaces with no brush marks and less waste.

Excellent to use with Masking Fluid

Unlike a brush, the marks made by a colour shaper are solid as there is no hair or bristle texture. The soft, non-absorbent silicone makes these tools ideal for applying watercolour masking fluid, as they are easy to clean and hair-free.

How to use your Colour Shapers Warhols Wife with Masking Fluid

  • Shake the bottle before use
  • Do not use your masking fluid on wet paper
  • Use gelatin surface-sized paper; this helps prevent the fluid from adhering too strongly to the paper
  • Dip your colour shaper into the masking fluid and paint it onto the areas of your artwork you want to keep white
  •  Using a colour shaper will avoid damaging your valuable paintbrush bristles
  • Wash brushes in soapy water immediately after use
  • Ensure your masking fluid is dry before applying watercolour paint or ink
  • Do not leave fluid on paper for long periods of time
  • If spilt by accident, wash item immediately in soapy water. Once dry, the latex can only be removed by picking at it or rubbing with an eraser. Unfortunately, there are no solvents available to remove it
  • Use colourless art masking fluid if there is any risk of staining from pigmented art masking fluid cited from https://www.winsornewton.com/row/education/guides/using-the-different-art-masking-fluids/

Colour Shapers are Great to use with Clay

Silicone colour shapers can also shape and smooth small clay areas, apply wax resist, or remove portions of glaze and slip with these easy-to-wipe shapers.

Use your Warhol shapers with air dry, natural, paper, and polymer clays. They are great for adding texture. Make dots, lines and stitching marks with ease. Also, create smooth-flowing holes by increasing hand pressure on your work. Colour shapers are also helpful when joining two pieces of clay together, as they can get into tight areas easily.

Use your Colour Shaper when Blending Charcoal, Graphite, Pastel or Pencil

Have you ever tried to create a realistic drawing on textured paper? If you have, you will notice that sometimes it is challenging to get the medium to stick into the little divots (texture) of the paper. You will notice this more with cold press and rough papers.

With a colour shaper, you can blend into these divots and remove the textured look of your drawing. They can help you achieve a blended look without using a medium.

Colour Shapers Warhols Wife and Alcohol Ink Art on Yupo Paper

Shapers are great for pushing ink and Isopropylcolour around on Yupo paper. Colour shapers don’t absorb fluids, and because Isopropyol dries quickly on the surface of this unique synthetic paper, they are great for creating shapes and organically drawing into your artwork. They will help you with achieving layers, shade and shape.

Warhol’s Wife colour shapers can also be used when illustrating with alcohol-based markers. If you are working on a piece and need extra blending, dip your shaper into some Isopropyl and blend away. If you want to lift some of the colour off your artwork, use the shaper and some Isopropyl to remove excess marker ink from your work.

Ideal for Sgraffito

They are ideal for sgraffito. Sgraffito is a form of decoration made by scratching through a surface to reveal a lower layer of a contrasting colour, typically done in plaster or stucco on walls or in a slip on ceramics before firing.

Cake Decorating

These tools are perfect for decorating cakes and sculpting buttercream or fondant!

Colour Shapers Warhols Wife are Easy to Clean

The Warhol’s Wife colour shapers will help you easily create sharp lines and effects of the smallest detail. The silicone is easy to clean no matter what medium you use; wash them off with mild soap and water.

These tools are a fun way to try new techniques. There are so many different applications and methods that you can do with colour shapers that your imagination only limits the possibilities.

Five-piece Warhol’s Wife black colour shapers have been used in conjunction with  Art Spectrum Soft pastels and Colourfix Paper in the shade Deep Ultra.
